Damien Loves His Toy Pit

Thanks to Grandma Linda, Damien is very rich in toys. He's got a mountain of toys. He's got toys all over the house, but they are concentrated in what we call the toy pit. This is where Damien spends most of his free time. He has a lot to keep him busy, but he loves the musical toys the most. He doesn't stay interested in one particular toy for too long, so we are thankful for the many different toys.

My empire!

I love my new pop up toy.

I love toys.

I love it when Daddy plays with me. We're missing some clothes due to rapid succession vomit.

Damien Rocks His Toys

Damien is growing up so fast. He loves to play, and play hard. He just loves to bang his toys into the ground or other toys, the louder the noise the better. He is such a boy. He also loves to drop his toys over and over and make momma and papa pick them up. He now loves loves loves his johnny jumper, and really goes to town jumping. He is so much fun. Thank you Grandma Linda for all the fun toys.

What's that? Where did I get these American thighs? You can thank my momma.

I didn't do it, I swear, I've been stuck in this strange contraption, no opportunity, no motive.

Mommy is always soooo happy to see me when she gets home from work.

I just love this large strange toy, it really makes a LOT of noise when I throw it to the ground.

I can sit up quite nicely by myself these days, although occasionally I like to torpedo my body backward just to see if momma is watching me.

I love jumping and I love kisses.

Ohh, a new toy from Grandma Linda, a car that rattles, I'm diggin it.

Damien Loves His Toys (All 100 of Them!)

Damien has a mountain of toys. Momma has always had a shopping addiction, as has Grandma Linda. So, between the two of them, Damien is quite rich in the toy department. Momma would argue that they are all necessary since D has a pretty short attention span and likes to rotate through his toys throughout the day. Here are some fun photos of D with his toys.

Probably the last tummy time photo - D has since learned how to turn over immediately after getting placed on his tummy. This somewhat bouncy wooden toy is one of his favorites, he loves to chew on the rounded ends and kick the toy and make it bounce.

Do I like to sit in my bumpo chair and play with my toys, yes, yes I do Mom.

What's that you say momma? Papa thinks I have too many toys?

No, no I do not. They are mine, all mine.

Jumping is soooo much fun, thanks for getting me this new toy!

I love it, I love it, I love it!

Damien Discovers Some New Toys

Damien is now finally ready for many of the toys Momma has bought him. While he is still content to just lie on the couch on the boppy pillow and stare at the ceiling and gnaw on his hands (still his favorite toy by far), such simple pleasures only last so long. So, Momma has busted out a bunch of new distractions, er toys. Damien can grasp some toys in his hands and as soon as he does, he tries to put them straight into his mouth. But, he often smacks himself in the head with the toy, and just drops it and can't pick it up, so he gets a little frustrated at times. So these toys seem to have a little bit of shelf life as he will probably enjoy them more when he can controle them better.

Damien gnawing on Sophie, those ears sure taste good!

Damien nonchalantly knawing on Sophie's cousin Monsieur Champignon aka "Mr. Mushroom" - who Papa pointed out looks like a cross between a breast and a penis. Damien LOVES to chew on the nipple, er top of this toy, which is a little funny since he HATES all pacifiers (Momma has tried every brand in desperation!).

Damien putting up with tummy time. He is very intrigued by this rainforest waterfally soother toy, it lights up, moves, makes music and has nice texture. It has thankfully allowed us to extend the dreaded tummy time by a few minutes.

Damien enjoying his new wooden toy. It bends in all directions, has moving parts and bright colors. Papa thinks it is genius and wishes we had invented something so simple and cheap to make yet such a great, and popular, toy.

Damien Explores the Jungle

Damien has decided that after eating and being changed, he likes to lay on his back and play instead of being held. Mommy discovered this by accident when he was super calm and happy while being changed (a new phenomenom he used to scream bloody murder every single time), and then picked him up to hold him after changing him. His happy demeanor turned fussy pants, so eventually Mommy laid him back down again, and the smiles returned. So, we decided it was time to break out Damien's jungle play gym that the lovely Jennifer Fearnow got him (thanks Jen!). He's a fan folks. Still too young to play with the toys, but he is mesmerized by the thing. It will keep him entertained for a good 15 minutes!

What the heck is this Mommy?
