Damien Rides the Choo Choo

After many months of wanting to go, Momma finally took Damien to ride the choo choo train in Tilden Park. Damien's buddy Kellen and parents Jeff and Laura made the drive up from Mountain View and after a brief visit at home, we made it to the trains (finally). Damien, who fell asleep on the drive up, was soooo excited. He kept saying choo choo over and over. We just missed a train when we arrived, and remarkably, Damien waited patiently for the train to come back after momma reassured him that the train would be back - prompting Damien to say choo choo back, over and over. He LOVED the ride, he clapped his hands and said "yay" a few times. After our 12 minute ride, we took a walk under the train track and D loved watching the train come and go. He had a blast. We will definaitely be back, especially while he is still free.

On the train - he looks rather unimpressed but the picture with a smile was too blurry.

Our train.

After our fun ride.

Enjoying a snack under the train tracks.

A bonus trip to a new playground after the train.

Damien loved the slide, especially going down head first.

Round and round the boys went!

Damien Goes to Maya's Birthday Party

Damien went to Maya's 1st birthday party - his first birthday party. Maya held a cupcake themed party in Damien's favorite park totland. He had a blast. He was fashionably late to the party because the party started at 2pm, when he goes down for his second nap, but he helped bring the party to a close in style.

"Sharing" paper plates.

Chasing after girls already.

Lovin the push car.

And the swings, always a hit.

Damien Does Dinner in the Park

On one of Daddy's daycare days, mommy was running a bit late coming home from work. And, despite the pretty crummy rainy, cloudy weather Berkeley has been having, it was a nice evening. So Papa took Damien to the park and brought his dinner and momma ran from BART to meet her boys at the park. Momma found Damien in the swing and had a blast pushing him, as evidenced below. After some swing action, Momma fed Damien dinner in the park - avocado pieces and some jarred puree. After dinner, Damien didn't want to go back in his stroller for the walk home, so he was carried home like the prince he is! A fun and special Friday night!

Ohh, an evening stroll, are we going to go find Momma?

Momma, boy you sure are happy to see me, rough day at work?

Mom, that kid looks like he wants my avocado!

Ok, now that I am done, those kids are no longer a threat to my dinner, can I go play?

Damien Loves the Park Swing

Well, our babysitter Suri told us that she put Damien in the bucket swings at the park and that he loves it. Momma felt a little bad that she didn't discover this first (let's be honest) but she is really happy that D loves Suri so much. So come the weekend, Momma and Papa took little D to the park to see it with out own eyes. True indeed, he loved it. As did we, he looks so darn adorable in that swing.

See Ma, I'm totally old enough for this.

Ohhh, look its another baby.

Oooohh, this is soo much fun! More, more.

Damien's First Encounter With Wildlife

While in Lyon, the weather turned freakishly warm one Saturday afternoon. So, with the temperature high enough for Momma to agree to take little D out, the Craigs went out for a stroll to the amazing park in Lyon. This park has a lake and a little zoo. So we took our little critter for his first encounter with wildlife. Little D got to see Giraffes, flamingos, Lemers, a pelican, and ducks. It was a fun family outing.

The beautiful entrance to the park.

Little D fell asleep on the walk over as he usually does.

D seems more interested in the wild papa than the giraffes.

Getting a little vitamin D (and a lot heavier)
Look it's papa's friends the pink flamingos (papa has been known to impersonate pink flamingos on occassion).
